He is anextremely irresponsible doctor . My mother aged 77 years got admitted under him for 16 days and they have misguided us with undefined reasons of her slow recovery . Even during discharge they have not provided us any radiology plates .They completely subpressed the condition of my mother . We need to get her readmitted within 12 hours of discharge from Fortis. Most of the doctors are incompetent in Cardiac care unit . Specially they treat Sr Citizen people as an ginipig. Worst ever hospital experience in Kolkata. Do not go to Fortis EMBye pass.

Dr. Shuvanan Ray is the best Cardiologist in Kolkata I have ever met with. I am under his treatment since 2010. I go to him for a check-up at an interval of every 6 months. My last visit to his outdoor chamber at Fortis Hospital was on 6th this month. His diagnosis and care makes a miracle for the patient. I can simply call him a living god.

He is no doubt the best cardiologist in town. He has been treating my uncle since the last 7-8 years and my uncle is doing absolutely amazing. He is extremely helpful and maintains a very healthy relationship with the patient and their family. My dad had suddenly developed a serious heart condition and we took him to see Dr. Shuvanan Ray at Fortis Anandapur. Even though there wasn't a single favourable review of Dr. Ray, we still went for the appointment as he was recommended by another doctor of Fortis Anandapur. To our dismay, the reviews turned out to be true as Dr. Ray kept sitting in his chair and didn't physically check my father even once. Instead he relied on the information provided by his young junior assisting doctor and based on that alone, he then and there diagnosed heart blockage without conducting any tests or physical exam and prescribed angiogram followed by angioplasty if required, even though he was made aware of the kidney problem my dad was suffering from already. As a disclaimer, he just coolly added that some patients develops some kidney issues which might require 1-2 temporary dialysis but for 0.05% patients, the dialysis may become permanent. We immediately got out of that hospital and went to another renowned Cardiologist who personally did an echo-cardiogram and diagnosed that there was NO HEART BLOCKAGE , just water retention in his heart, a side effect of his kidney disease, which can easily be treated with medicines alone. It is couple of months now and the medicines prescribed has worked and my dad is much better.

The worst experience ever.Doesn't know the basic social norms.right from making body shaming of the patient to use offensive words to describe patient's situation and inspite of listening to actual problem demoralizing the patient is all we have experienced.Won't recommend anybody to show up.And don't fall in trap with all his rubbish tests. In between this Fortis is having their fair share. We paid for his consultancy nor his juniors. Don't know why so many people were their to consult him. Pls go to someone who is humble and caring and true to his profession.

My parents recently visited the doctor at Fortis and the experience was horrible. Not only he was reluctant to listen to the patient's health concerns but he was also rude when asked certain doubts about the prescribed medicine. He didn't invest even 5mins of his time during the consultation. As a Healthcare professional, they should have minimal courtesy towards the patients. Won't recommend him to anyone.

Totally dissatisfied with doctor's approach. With a fee of Rs 1500 plus registration charges is Fortis amounting to 250, the time given to patient by the doctor is less than 3 min. Patient satisfaction is Nil and no one cares for it. Doctor doesn't feel to talk to the patient and instead talks to junior doctor to teach her medical science. Any question asked to the doctor is answered by juniors doctor or some non-medical person who is responsible for making appointments. Unnecessary medical test is recommended by the doctor which is of huge cost and on second consultation with other doctors it is confirmed that the test is not needed. Even the junior doctor named Dr. Ankita who examines before Dr. Roy, starts personal discussions with her peers in between her checkup keeping the patient starting at their gossips. Overall neither the Doctor nor the OPD of Fortis is recommended.

Might be well shined with qualification and degrees but that doesn't make a person well educated and learned. One needs to be humble, and handle patients with patience and compassion instead of being arrogant and not listening to what the patient is facing and his problems of which he is seeking medical help for. Don't ever visit him. He will drain all your money with useless and unnecessary diagnostics and then if you revisit him, he would ignore and won't take any responsibility if you face issues again medically after following his former prescription.
