(1 star) If you value clear communication, empathy, and accountability, avoid Dr. Ratan Kumar Das. My uncle entered BM Birla for routine CABG; under Dr. Das's watch he never woke up again. For eight days we got vague reassurances, shifting stories, and zero transparency about costs or complications. Only after my uncle was dying did the doctor casually admit he'd probably picked up a "hospital infection." They still billed us 15,000 a day for drugs we had to buy ourselves over and above the insurance money. When we begged for realistic prognosis, Dr. Das vanished behind paperwork or OT work. No plan, no ownership--just pressured signatures and mounting bills. In the end we took a body home and a mountain of debt. Families in crisis need a doctor who explains, not one who hides. I wouldn't trust him with a routine check-up, let alone a life-or-death surgery.
