Dr. Dr. Ashok B Malpani- Interventional Cardiologist: Complex Angioplasty, Pacemaker Implantation | BM Birla Heart Hospital

My father had a heart attack a few months back. We were referred to Dr Malpani by our family members and obviously we had full faith in him. However, he was kind of rude with the way he behaved with my mother and me when we were asking questions about my father's condition. Later the same day, my dad took his last breath within 30 mins of Dr Malpani's operation (it was a stent placement to remove heart blockage). We understand that dad must have had other complications, but after my dad's passing that day, Dr Malpani didn't even meet my mother or me even for a millisecond to explain what went wrong. I believe it's a basic duty to treat every patient and their family with empathy and love, especially during such a difficult time and I expected better but I lost everything that day---the one person I loved the most - my father and even my trust in such highly reputed individuals. I am sure he is a remarkable surgeon, but maybe we were just unlucky. I hope noone ever faces this situation ever.

He is one of the best doctors in kolkata for cardiology. My father was suffering from mild chest pain and the doctor in my city did ECG and suggested angiography but I preferred a second opinion in BM Birla Kolkata. Dr . AB Malpani suggested a 2D and TMT test and after that result , he suggested a CT angiography. The reports were ok and he suggested to change the lifestyle. Thanks to him!

My own son in law, aged about 53 years had been admitted to B M Birla Hospital yesterday, on 2/3/2025 after he had acute chest pain twice under Dr Ashok Malpani and after check up he advised angiography. We had natural fear that during the process, the doctor will come out to advise emergency angioplasty but, No, Dr. Ashok Malpani claimed that the same is not at all necessary and released the patient with suggestions for medicine and Life style. A very BIG RELIEF FOR US, that increased our Faith On Medical Profession, especially for Dr Malpani. May God bless him and always him keep away from Greed. Thanks Doctor! He is just next to God!!

Dr.Malpani is a good doctor in kolkata.he is not only good doctor but also polite behaviour.My father under his treatment since 8 years.he do not prescribed unnecessary too much medicine and if patient have problem listen very carefully,of course his secretary Mr.Bikash babu very quiet,calm and well mannered.
