Dr. Shahid Durga Malla District Hospital (Eden Hospital)

It was really sad to see the pathetic condition of the main hospital of Darjeeling town! We had an emergency and went there in the middle of night with a male patient. The male ward was on 4th floor and surprisingly the lift was non-functional! The doctor and nurses were helpful but it was hard to find any ward boy. The washroom of that floor was what we call HELL! Horrible experience The hospital is situated near the Darjeeling Motor Stand and Sadar Police Station.

Wrost management especially security guard (lady) she dont t know how to behave and very rude behaviour...I was in hurry my patient was alone she asked me for visitors card and I said I was not having idea regarding visitor card she was continuously scolding me and that guard boy also and she was pointing out of my parents... She only don't know how to baheve with ppl one of the worst hospital inhave been to I'm not at all happy with so called security gurd and she was behaving as if she owns the whole hospital

Worst experience ever in my life and nurse are very unresponsive and rude. Nurse job is taking care of patients since we admitted no one is asking about patient. We have to go there to patient is having fever.

The worst management ever. From the cleaning staff to nurses everyone had their so called attitude.. I was admitted at the hospital and there was 1 patient beside my bed who was in a serious condition she had been given only oxygen not even single medicine. Her family members requested the nurses as well as doctors to take her in CCU but they used to refuse and simply say "CCU is not in our hand" . Due to their negligence their family lost her . So I request whoever have to look after all these please take strict actions against them and give them proper training how to talk to patients.

The behavior and the work of the staffs are not good. Nurses with the night duty has to do their work, when patients are suffering. On calling them they take around 30 minutes to walk from their staff room to the ward thus making the patient suffer more. Not only that if something is needed for the patient like saline water and if the channel isn't working it's their duty to do something so that the patient receives the amount of saline needed for the body, instead what they do is close the channel and say that it's okay if they remain without them. Also they visit at around 10 after which they do not wish to visit again. Government hospitals are for the welfare of the people who cannot afford to the private hospitals. If they do not treat the patients like us who where shall we go during the times of our suffering. Government hospitals shouldn't just be for the nurses and doctors to have a secure amd settled career but the priority should be their treatment towards the common people or precisely the PATIENT.

Staff doesn't know how to communicate and give proper information. After all what to say it's a government hospital and the staff has an attitude like as if he/ she is the MD of the hospital. First of all you doctors get paid for the work that you do on your daily basis and if my family has a govt job obviously we would request for a medication in a govt hospital. Heights of attitude and racism. Doctors and staff should be professional with their work and communication.

Very good Doctor and nurse, Neat and clean Bed, Washroom is neat and clean , I'm very comfortable on this hospital, sister's are very helpful, Thank you for all staff and Doctor

If you believe in miracles, here is one. Breaking down at every step, dilapidated beyond repair, if it were not for the self motivated nursing staff, it will go down as must see place in the tourist map of Darjeeling. They are so kind that they ask patients to walk up 4 floors to the ward as nothing works.
