I had a very good experience with the treatment provided. No complaints about the nurses and staff -- they were all courteous and attentive. Dr. A.S. Kumar is a fantastic doctor with excellent diagnostic skills, especially when it comes to children. He was thorough, kind, and highly professional. However, one area that needs serious improvement is the billing section when it comes to insurance claims. During the final settlement, I was asked to pay the discount portion which the insurance company had applied -- even though the insurer had clearly mentioned via email that no additional payment should be collected from the patient. According to my policy terms, I am not liable to pay anything out of pocket. When I contacted the insurance company, they confirmed this and found it strange that the hospital was asking for additional payment. Important clarification: The agreement about discounts, caps exists between the hospital and the insurance company, as part of their network contract. The patient is not involved in that contract. My contract is solely with the insurance provider. If the insurance company deducts any amount as part of settlement, only that difference -- if any -- should be billed to the patient. In my case, there was no such amount. The billing team must understand that not all insurance policies are the same. If they have issues with the discounts mentioned in the settlement, they should address it by revising their agreement with the insurance company -- not by charging the patient. One more important point that everyone should know: This hospital is not suitable for the middle class. The costs are quite high. That said, I won't comment on their charges -- they are within their rights to set prices as they wish, since India currently has no regulation on hospital pricing. We got admitted under Dr. Balamurugan (Neurologist) and Dr. Ram(Pulmonologist) in salem. My wife have parkinson treated Dr. Balamurugan good. She improved. I got admitted for cold under Dr. Ram both doctors are experienced and very professional. Thanks to both of you
