Dr. Mother Hospital (P) Ltd

Had the worst experience at this tertiary care centre, "Reproductive and Child welfare Hospital" as they call themselves. It is shameful to have such a horrendous experience being a member of the medical community (KSMC Registration No-97447), Global Association of Indian Medical Students (GAIMS) and Indian Medical Association (IMA). My nightmare of a visit at this place began with my requirement for HPV vaccination as part of pursuing my further medical education and also for my concern regarding prevention of Cervical Cancer. (I am all in for GAIMS "Project Suraksha" - Promoting Cervical Cancer Awareness and Prevention by administering vaccinations as a preventative measure) . Having coordinated beforehand with the hospital reception staff, communicating I will not be able to arrive during the short duty hours of the Medical Officers (12:00pm) appointed, I was asked to come directly to casualty with a bystander for safe procurement of vaccination ( Jithin Vasan, my fitness Coach). I did exactly what I was asked to do and on arrival, the time was around 6:30pm as I had my own professional and academic demands to fulfill. I was made to run around the hospital- be it their labour room, laboratory, casualty- the OBGYN Consultant on call Dr Lasitha Sameera wouldn't even bother to come downstairs to examine me or do a portable USG (As they have a single portable USG device that they keep circulating between ward/casualty/labour rooms! - i dont even want to think about the methodology of how emergency OBGYN cases are dealt with at this place). I had communicated about my International flight the next day to visit my dear father to the Cheif Casualty Medical Officer- Dr Chandu and the rest of the nurses and his team- and yet, I was not even allowed to keep my heavy bags over their empty casualty beds during the middle of the night, I was not given the vaccination and my total bill came out to be 4665/-(Unnecessary tests + Miscellaneous for reaching this wretched Hospital). All I got in return was a USG slip(For 2 days ahead) for reconfirmation of their illogical and culturally biased views about my requirements, which was clearly not possible for me as I had a flight to catch the next day). This place was a total disappointment.

Dr. R. Raveendra Varma is a great doctor and very friendly with kids and parents. He is very precise in his estimate and is very confident in his in ability. It is important to check with the insurance team first if cashless payments are available. Parking facility is very good , nature friendly

My mother had lap hysterectomy here which was done by Dr Sandip Dutta. He truly is the best lap surgeon in thrissur. Really happy with him. also to mention about the nurse under him Ms.Rejitha, she was very kind and helpful. both were very professional. Best experience here at Mother hospital under Dr Sandip Dutta

Worst hospital in thrissur.Must teach all nursing staff how to behave patient.I had an bad experience on last month from nursing staff.While asking some doubts to nursing station they considered like a slave. From the doctor side we feel good(Lasitha mam).from the hospital side management serves worst services. In our family most of them suggesting mother hospital from their past experience gynecology.Now a days they are focussing only financial growth not customer service. For a old room they are charging Rs, 2700,but in bill its showing only 1000 Rs. Will not suggest this hospital to anyone.

Kindly change its name to Mother Medical college.Even Thrissur medical college doing better service.we are coming here just because of good and efficient doctors.otherwise worst service with a huge number of staff.just close this hospital if you cant run it properly

I will never recommend this hospital to anyone. Even with just 29 tokens, the doctor was unable to manage them effectively. I have been under the care of another doctor in the past who managed 100+ patients per day, and still I never had to wait this long. The service here is extremely poor and disorganized. This was our first visit to Mother Hospital, Thrissur, for a consultation with senior gynecologist Dr. Vasanthi Jayaraj. While booking the appointment, we were given token number 26 and clearly instructed to arrive by 3 PM, with a note that there may be a slight delay. However, we later found out there were only 29 tokens in total, and the consultation window was from 3 PM to 7 PM. Despite arriving on time, by 5:30 PM only 17 tokens had been called. This clearly meant we'd have to wait until nearly 7 PM to be seen. We completely understand that delays can happen in hospitals, but asking patients--especially women who may be pregnant or unwell--to wait for nearly 4 hours on a weekday, without proper communication or realistic time estimates, is frustrating and unacceptable. If our consultation was expected to happen closer to 6:30 or 7 PM, we could have planned our day better. The behavior of the staff and management was also disappointing--rude and indifferent, as though patients should just silently accept the poor planning. It felt less like a professional hospital and more like a poorly run system with no regard for patient comfort or time.

I had a recent laproscopic hystrectomy done here under Dr Sandip Dutta. He is truly amazing and professional. I was also very impressed with the nursing staff Ms Rejitha who is working under him. She is very helpful and prompt in responding. Truly had the best possible experience here.

Unlike other hospitals, Mother hospital is spread over a large area. There are lot of departments and specialities. We visited gynecologist, one of the best in town. There is canteen facility and lot of parking space. Do check if this hospital is in the list of network hospitals of your insurance provider.
