Dr. Zulfikar Ahamed is undoubtedly a skilled paediatric cardiac surgeon, and his medical expertise is commendable. However, there are several logistical and service-related concerns that patients and their families should be aware of before visiting. Parking Limitations: There is no designated parking facility available for four-wheelers. Visitors must make their own arrangements. Parking on nearby public roads is not advisable, as vehicles are often booked by the Kerala Traffic Police. Strict Mask Policy: Entry to consult with the doctor is strictly prohibited without wearing a mask. This rule is enforced rigorously. Echocardiogram Procedure: An echocardiogram was performed for my child, and although charges were collected, no printed report or documentation was provided. Payment Transparency: The doctor accepted 2,000 in cash directly, and no provision for online or official (white) transaction was offered. This raises concerns about the transparency of financial dealings. ATM Facilities: The premises have Canara and ICICI bank ATMs, but they are frequently out of service. It is strongly advised to carry cash in hand, preferably 2,000, to avoid inconvenience. Doctor's Demeanour: While the doctor's medical competence is appreciated, his interpersonal behaviour can be described as moderately courteous--neither particularly warm nor impolite. In summary, while Dr. Ahamed appears to be a capable surgeon, several administrative and ethical issues surrounding the clinic's operations could be improved for a better patient experience.

After my baby's Echo scan, I was shocked to learn that Dr. Zulfikar does not take screen prints of the scan images for future reference. This is a serious concern, as these images are crucial for ongoing medical evaluation. Adding my personal experience to this: My son, was diagnosed with VSD in his first month and was referred to Dr. Zulfikar by neonatologist due to a heart murmur and slow weight gain. Our first appointment on September 20, 2024, was distressing. First Consultation - A Terrible Experience Dr. Zulfikar displayed an arrogant and insensitive attitude. During first Echo scan, he explained my son's condition in detail--to a junior doctor--highlighting how severe it was, yet when I, as a first-time mother, asked if everything was okay, his response was cold and dismissive: "I have other patients lined up. Something is wrong with your son. Wait outside. I'll call you when I have image review ready." A simple "Don't worry, I'll explain shortly" would have provided some comfort, but instead, his tone nearly broke me. When I was called back in, the first thing he asked was about my educational background, as if to determine whether I was even worthy of understanding my own child's condition. Repeated Delays & Unprofessional Conduct Over multiple visits, it became clear that Dr. Zulfikar regularly arrives late, making heart patients--including infants--wait unnecessarily. Parents even hesitate to take their babies to the feeding room for fear of missing their turn. We booked a 9:30 AM appointment, expecting timely consultation. Yet, he casually strolled in at 10:15 AM. Today, my patience ran out, as my baby was supposed to get his 6 month vaccinations and already booked an appointment early thinking we don't have to wait. I approached the receptionist, requesting that they stop giving 9:30 AM appointments if the doctor is not available at that time and adding that I will raise this pro. When the doctor finally arrived, he was visibly irritated, our token no 1A displayed and as soon as we went inside he said: "I heard you were furious and shouted at the receptionist because I was late." He did not allow me to explain, instead handed a note with his name and employee ID, instructing me to file a complaint as if he was untouchable. He went on to say: "I am the COO or something of KIMS Healthcare. Feel free to email about me." He then referred my baby for an Echo and chest X-ray but not before another condescending remark: "Don't expect me to come running fast. You will wait until I come." The Echo Scan & Lack of Proper Documentation Despite all this, we proceeded with the Echo scan. When I requested the scan images, I was told that Dr. Zulfikar only assesses conditions live and does not take images. This raises serious concerns about the medical protocols at KIMS: Why is there a dedicated scanning technician if Dr. Zulfikar insists on handling everything himself? Where do I now go to obtain crucial Echo images for my child's future medical evaluations? Final Thoughts As a first-time mother with an ailing child, no parent should have to experience this level of disregard and disrespect from a healthcare provider. Medical professionals should show compassion, not arrogance. Today, I came across another cardiologist at KIMS--Dr. Ramakrishnan--and in just a few moments, I could sense his warmth and empathy toward patients. This is how a doctor should be. Age does not define success--attitude and behavior do. Unfortunately, Dr. Zulfikar's attitude fails both his profession and the patients who trust KIMS with their care. My baby was born at KIMS, and we always told him, "This is your second home." But today, with a heavy heart, I have decided that we will not return--not because of KIMS, but because of Dr. Zulfikar Ahmed. I was disrespected to the core.

Worst doctor with no medical ethics, treat heart patients with no empathy and care. He might be good at diagnosis but everything else fails.
