Carmel Hospital might have a few good doctors, so it's fine for a quick consultation. But anything beyond that is a frustrating and unpleasant experience. The bad experience starts right from the cafeteria--operational only during specific time slots, closes by 6 PM, accepts only cash, and the staff are unnecessarily rude. After that, you're completely on your own, even for basics like tea or water--unless you rely on Swiggy or Zomato. Once, my phone died while trying to make a payment. I asked at least 10 staff members, including security, for a charger. No one helped. The security even said, "Staff shifts end by 6, so nobody needs to bring a charger." That says a lot about the mindset. And the worst part? The staff are so careless and rude, they don't even listen when you speak. They act like they're doing you a favor by just being there--completely dismissive, showing zero concern for what you're saying. To the management: wake up--it's 2025, not the 1980s. People expect basic respect, proper communication, and humane treatment. Honestly, I wonder--are they like this in their personal lives too, or do they just assume people here don't deserve even basic manners?

I have been visiting Cramel Hospital regularly since November 2024 for my wife's pregnancy care. Unfortunately, our experience has been consistently disappointing. Despite booking all scans and tests well in advance, we have been forced to wait for long hours every time just to complete the bill payments, because the patient's medical file is not sent to the billing area on time. Even worse is the arrogant and disrespectful behavior of some staff, especially at the billing counter. When we politely raise our concerns, they respond rudely, even shouting at us, asking whether we are ready to wait for an hour or more. Why should we make prior bookings if this is how patients are treated? Waiting for long hours, shouting just to get basic service, and facing staff arrogance is unacceptable, especially from a healthcare institution. This has been a mentally and emotionally stressful experience for us. I sincerely hope the hospital management takes this seriously and improves their system. Patients deserve better. Despite this Dr. Yashna madam and their nursing staff doing a very polite job and their care and dedication is very much appreciatable and our queries are solved very clearly with the Doctor.

Very poor service and staff also unpleasant behaviour. We came with our kid and two and half hours we were in the casualty. Nurse said doctor has to come. Then only they can forward us to take the xray. Dr was in the casualty but after around 15 minutes only he attended us.Then we directed for the xray. Eventhough Xray was taken fast and the bill also paid by us, Dr again came very late to attend us. There also inside the casualty we were seated for long time without any response. Afterwards The dr said there is a bruise in my kid's elbow and the stiching has to be done and also plaster has to be put. For that also we waited for long. The sister said for the stitching Dr has to come. And at last after around 1 hr more, I asked the nurse many times in a low voice and everytime she is repeating the same words. The dr has to be free, emergency is coming so he is not free. But I didn't find any patient who is in a critical situation. Patients are just fever and small small diseases. Then I thought if we waited so long with the small kid how can it be tolerated. It is a casuality and the dr can't complete the treatment of a kid within two and a half more hours, what will be the condition of the patients. My kid is 8 years old. Moreover to the God's grace, we went to another hospital. The hospital people told us nothing serious in my kid's elbow. They also taken the xray and informed us there is nothing. Only one stitch to be needed. My child is also happy now as there is no plaster and hurting my child. The sister in the carmel hospital told me all the hospitals are same as carmel. She even blamed Rajagiri hospital too. To her I need to say, we went to many hospitals even Rajagiri. We never had such experience before in any hospital. And moreover I also was a patient in carmel too.And that was long years before. Now it's administration may be poor and lack of efficient doctors and staff.Tell the doctors to see the exray well and speak to the bystanders. The casuality dr he spoke to ortho dr and he also said the same. And we need to come again the next day to consult ortho. How can it be happen on the same day nearly same time, the result in your exray is the child has bruise in the elbow and the other hospital saying no bruise. You are just scaring the bystanders and trying to earn money out of it.If this happen to any other customer, they may have shout at you. We just left as we don't need to create a scene Very bad Thanks to God.

I lost my father due to negligence of this hospital. My father was admitted with fever and headache. They first told that he is caught with dengue. Nurses at ward was arrogant beyond imagination. My father was having terrible headache and even after repeatefly notifying, doctor didt came. Next day my father got seizure early morning. I suddenly rushed to nursing staffs on duty and the reply what is got is ' doctor is attending prayer and they will not disturb dr.litty during prayer hours'. Even after repeated request dr.litty came after around 1.5hrs later to tell us that it is a serious case and I should shift my father to some other hospital and they can't handle the case. Within minutes, they started to pressure us to discharge immediately by paying the charges for that day. A nurse came and removed the drip set carelessly which caused blood to come out like hell. They wanted to get rid of us. I took my father to kolenchery medical college and MRI scan revealed that he had internal bleeding inside brain and has spread all over and he was not having any dengue. we lost him next day. It's been 1 year since I lost him. Pure negligence of dr sr. litty and the entire staff at Carmel hospital holds the full responsibility for my loss. Their irresponsibility killed my father. Nurses, even the billing staffs are arrogant beyond imagination. It's not a hospital, it is a hell.

Very Disappointed with the Emergency Department. We had a really bad experience at this hospital. We went to the casualty emergency section as the health condition was a bit serious, but sadly, no one seemed to care. It's called an emergency department, but no one was attending to us properly. They just came, made us fill a form, and left. We waited for almost an hour with no response or help. Finally, we had to leave and rush to another hospital. Worst service!!

worst experience.. if i could give negative star i would. my 3 days hospital stay after delivery was terrible. good thing about my experience at carmel hospital was 1. consultation with dr prema, 2.good behaviour of labour room sisters 3,the care that dr nithya gave at the time of delivery 4. perineal care after delivery - but it would have been better if sisters cared more about privacy of the patient - could make the guests and others leave the room till the procedure was over. i was totally disappointed with 1. looting money in the name of "delivery package"- patients opting for ward , double room, ac room have different charges for the same service thay recieve. instead of taking different room charges they charge you more than 10-15k if you choose ac room. this is in addition to the room rent. 2. nurses behaviour - absolutely apalled by the irresponsible and unprofessional approach of nursring staff. no coordination between gynec ward nurses and ac room charge nurses. if a baby cries and screams for hours on end due to lack of mothers breast milk they have no protocol or permission to give some formula feed for the baby unless the pediatrician orders it. and they refuse to call the pediatrician as it is night time . the baby was hoarse and tired after hours of screaming and when we asked sisters help they said " all babies cry" and went back to their scrolling phone and writing works. when we insisted they came and checked and saw that i had no milk to give the child they told we cant do anything till pediatrician orders but refused to call him and ask till morning. they also don't have a clue regarding birth registration - when they admit patients under special high price ac package then they are supposed to know the policy regarding everything about care of mother baby and other procedures related to it. when enquired about birth registration they said " i dont know, i will enquire and tell you". a nurse came and said baby has to be admitted in nicu for jaundice . we got thr baby ready and went to them to take baby to nicu . then they said the baby is discharged . we asked about sudden decision of pediatrician to discharge the baby and requested to atleast keep the baby in phototherapy atleast till all the discharge procedures was over (which would take hours till evening) they said we will not call the pediatrician and will only do what he orders and not ask any questions to him. how do they expect patients to communicate with the doctor unless they clear our concerns and doubts. 3. pediatrician dr rafeeq is a rude doctor who doesn't like communicating with bystanders. when the baby was screaming due to lack of breast milk he ordered dextrose solution which would only prevent hypoglycemia and not give the child any nutrition. the child lost more than 300g by day 3. nurses fear him so much they refuse to call him with any concerns of the patient. he cancelled the admission of baby in nicu with bilirubin 13 without any explanation. nurses refised to contact him about our questions and request to give phototherapy . he asked for a review after 2 days. seeing the childs jaundice i took her to another hospital and the bilirubin had climbed to 18.7, they immediately started treatment and questioned why such a jaunduced baby was discharged without review on next day itself. 4. a baby care charge of 1450 was charged. we had not recieved any baby care services at the hospital except immunisation regular rounds and hearing test for all of which we were charged extra . the baby was not even wiped or examined properly during rounds.birth registration procedure was not started unless we enquired about it on discharge . total bill for baby came to 6000+ in which we recieved service worth less than 2000. 5. room - the "special ac room delivery package" had room without a dustbin for pads, doormat for bathroom, no facility to wash cloths , no cable for tv, no changing bedsheets or moping floors unless requested repeatedly and staff nurse with no clue or care about mom or baby 6. no facility to wash and dry clothes.

Dissatisfied Experience! This is about the pediatrician in this hospital who examined my friend newborn baby. He is refusing to discharge the baby even after 8 days of observation claiming that she is affected of infection. The doctor seemed rushed through this time without truly addressing the issue.. so we forcibly demanded the relieving and consulted another hospital. From the initial blood test itself they conveyed that the baby is perfectly ok and no health issues.
