Dr. CSI Holdsworth Memorial Mission Hospital

The oldest hospital in Mysore run by the CSI and wesslian church. A missionary hospital with contribution from the Maharaja of Mysore and the Foreign missionaries this hospital was once a very famous hospital for its nursing staff and good and dedicated medical professionals and a fan following of patients. Over time with the advent of corporate hospitals and staff union issues, the popularity waned and is in the decline now. The medical records have been maintained meticulously since centuries.

I'm not a student here, but my close friend is currently studying at CSI Holdsworth Memorial Hospital College of Nursing, and I felt it's important to share what they're going through. From everything they've told me, the experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. The college atmosphere is extremely restrictive and mentally exhausting. The daily chapel is compulsory - not just for Christian students, but even Muslim and Hindu students are forced to attend, and attendance is strictly marked. Boys are expected to attend chapel only in the morning, but girls are forced to go twice - morning and evening (7:00 - 7:30 PM). On Sundays, chapel is from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and it is mandatory for all students There is no real freedom, especially for girls. Girls in the hostel are not allowed regular outings. Only after 3 months, they may get 2-3 hours of outing on a Sunday, and that too rarely. Even if they need to buy a sanitary pad during periods, they're not allowed to step out - instead, boys are asked to buy it and pass it to the girls' hostel. Ordering food online is also not allowed. Apps like Swiggy, Zomato, or Zepto are strictly banned. If you order without permission, the warden takes photos of the parcel and shows them to the principal, which leads to unnecessary trouble and pressure. Also, the overall environment is overly religious and rigid, with most people here being deeply conservative. It's very difficult for open-minded or emotionally sensitive students to feel comfortable or accepted. Yes, academics may be decent - but if you plan to study here, do not choose the hostel, especially for girls. The mental pressure is real, and it can seriously affect your peace of mind. This place honestly feels more like a spiritual camp or correctional facility than a college.

I'mnot a Student in this institution..but I wanted to take admission here after my 12th so I seeks many reviews especially the student's who are studying here but unfortunately it's disappointed me ...Because the student's in this institution face so many difficulties during the time of posting due to the poor facilities in this hospital therefore they shift to other hospital for better facilities...The management doesnot concern about maintaining this institution this was setup during British rule so there is no change at all...student's suffers alot ..they face so many challenges in their daily life the management tortured and forced student's to do religious practice..and the condition of boys hostel was very pathetic ...finally this institution is not good for student's so you have to search another institution provides good facilities for student's.

Students are tortured and forced to do unnecessary things related to religion and also doesn't have a good hostel facility which is compared to my dog shelter it is better than that hostel !!

One of the third class institute , Don't Go for Studies, because there is no one teacher , lecture , no principal, if you studied here you can't get anything no certificate no transfer certificate 3rd class one of the third class institution actually I am a student here I studied here,

This is one of the oldest hospitals in Mysore. Staffs are co-operative.

My husband has undergone cervical spine surgery two years back. The treatment we got was very good. The concefrom doctor's and nurses were excellent. The other faculty were also highly approachable and ready for service. Even today Mission hospital is stood first in the best nursing care faculty and house keeping were looked after

Doctors are very friendly, Nurses are very rude.
