I took mt grandmother to this hospital for a normal check-up to a cardiologist-- she walked in on her own. Shockingly, the doctors decided to admit her after saying that her condition is not good. After admission Within a day or two, her condition worsened drastically, and she was placed on ventilation. After removing her from the ventilator, they discharged her the very next day, claiming she was stable. But the reality was far from it. As soon as we reached home, she lay down to rest -- and suffered a severe attack. We immediately tried calling the emergency numbers provided on the discharge slip, but no one responded. Our grandmother died struggling for breath, with no medical help or support. This is not just poor service -- this is criminal negligence. The way they handled everything -- from sudden admission to careless discharge -- shows a complete lack of responsibility, empathy, and professionalism. This hospital is notoriously mismanaged and should be held accountable for the loss of lives due to their ignorance and greed. A highly irresponsible and infamous hospital in Jammu. I trusted them with a life -- and they failed us miserably.

Patient Reviews
" The staff member who did my eye test spoke very rudely. He said, 'You paid 300 and got a 1000 test,' in a very disrespectful tone. I came for treatment, not to be insulted. This kind of behavior is very disappointing from a hospital setting....
Avoid KD Hospital for emergency cases. Referred patients face excessive wait times (minimum 10 hours) to see a doctor. Instead, opt for government hospitals during emergencies for timely medical attention. Very bad experience
Dr Nikhil Mahajan is good but the staff at KD hospital is disgusting ....if a patient arrives at 8 am ....or 12pm ...he have to wait for TMT till 3pm....I will not recommend to anyone in future
I got my father treated by Dr Nikhil mahajan , we had lost every hope but Dr Nikhil Mahajan and his team saved my father .Dr Nikhil Mahajan is best intervention cardiologist of jk and post procedure Management by Dr Gazi was just tremendous. I am also thankfull to all ccu staff too who took care of father during the stay.
**Feedback on Patient Experience at KD Eye Hospital, Jammu** **1. Overburdened Doctor in OPD** It is concerning that there is only one doctor managing the OPD, with over 50 patients daily. This heavy workload not only compromises the doctor's well-being but also potentially affects the quality of patient care. A provision for additional doctors in the OPD is essential to ensure better service delivery and allow the doctor adequate time for breaks. **2. Lack of Transparency in Patient Queue Management** Although patient cards are numbered during registration, the numbering system is not adhered to. The nurse at the doctor's door manually calls out names, leading to potential favoritism and manipulation. To address this: - A computerised ticketing system should be introduced at the reception, assigning a unique number to each patient. - A digital display board with an audio announcement system should notify patients when their turn arrives, ensuring transparency and fairness. This will also allow the nurse to focus on her core responsibilities instead of acting as an attendant. **3. Equal Treatment for All Patients** It is crucial that the staff is trained and sensitized to treat all patients equally, regardless of their background or VIP status. Following the assigned queue system strictly will build trust and enhance the hospital's reputation. **4. Payment and Billing Issues** Proper billing for all payments is a must. We did not receive a receipt for the hydrophilic lens, which was suggested as a better option over the regular Indian lens. The hospital must ensure all payments are documented, and receipts are issued to avoid any doubts or discrepancies. **5. Waiting Time and Patient Comfort** Given the extended waiting times, it is important to improve the experience for patients and their attendants. The hospital should: - Provide a better waiting lounge with comfortable seating. - Include a well-maintained cafeteria offering snacks and beverages at reasonable prices. These changes will make the waiting experience less stressful and more welcoming for everyone. **6. Comfort for Surgical Patients** Patients are required to remove their shoes for hygiene purposes while preparing for surgery. However, the prolonged waiting time and the cold floor make it uncomfortable and could even lead to patients falling sick. To address this: - Provide clean slippers to patients to use during their stay. - Alternatively, carpet the waiting and preparation areas to make the environment more comfortable and patient-friendly. **7. Maintaining Service Standards** KD Eye Hospital has a good reputation, with 75% of its customers being ECHS referrals. However, if service quality deteriorates, it risks losing these valuable partnerships to competing organizations. Ensuring transparency, efficiency, and patient satisfaction will secure the hospital's continued success. --- **Conclusion** We hope the hospital management will take these points into serious consideration and implement necessary changes to improve the patient and attendant experience. Thank you for your attention to these matters. ---
