Review of Apollo Hospital, GS Road, Guwahati - Disappointing Experience & Overpriced Services I recently had an experience at Apollo Hospital, GS Road, Guwahati, and unfortunately, it was far from satisfactory. While most doctors are highly knowledgeable, polite, and professional, the overall quality of services, both in hospitalization and OPD, was disappointing--especially given the exorbitant charges. Here's a breakdown of my concerns: Hospitalization Issues: 1. Overpriced Services: The charges for hospitalization, ICU, and room rent are nearly double compared to reputed hospitals like Medanta and Fortis, yet the quality of service is significantly lower. 2. Unhygienic Conditions: The hospital wards, rooms, and toilets were not well-maintained, raising serious hygiene concerns. 3. Excessive Pharmacy Charges: The hospital pharmacy sells medicines and surgical items at full MRP, whereas the Apollo 24/7 app offers the same with a 10-20% discount and home delivery. 4. Lack of Basic Facilities: Despite high charges, there is no proper parking space within the hospital premises. 5. Poor Staff Behavior: The hospital staff, including administrative and support teams, displayed unprofessional and unhelpful behavior, prioritizing financial gains over patient care. OPD Issues: 1. Inflated Test & Scan Charges: While Apollo 24/7 app lists genuine prices for diagnostic tests, the hospital charges almost three times more for the same services. 2. Service Quality Mismatch: The OPD charges are significantly higher than industry standards, but the service quality does not justify the cost. Conclusion: Given Apollo's brand reputation, I expected world-class service, but instead, I experienced overpriced services, poor hygiene, and staff behavior that seemed more focused on maximizing revenue rather than patient care. I hope the hospital management takes serious steps to improve these issues and align their pricing with industry standards.

Very bad staff behaviour. I went this morning to do a Eco for my 1.5 year infant baby. When i went to eco room that time my baby crying. He not stopped crying. Than suddenly the lady who are a working person of that room said ediot to my baby. Its shocking that a lady like a doctor said like that. I am very upset with this. We paid a huge amount to your hospital. We want a good service. If your staff are like that than nobody will come to your hospital. And baby doctor puja b baruah is also a careless doctor. When we are waiting on opd she was busy in gossiping with one of her friend in doctor's room. After 41 minutes later we were able to visit. And one other issue.. they have verry narrow space..no sitting area in opd ..its very unhygienic atmosphere. Very poor.. I will never go there in future.. very bad service
Treatment is good. But most Doctors are late. It was very terrible experience with Ultrasound sonography where ot takes 1 or more hours on 1 token. Ultrasound doesn't take that much of time in other medical hospitals comparatively.
The hospital overall is not bad. I had a good experience with the doctor I met for my treatment--very professional and helpful. However, the experience with the staff was mixed. Some were polite and respectful, while others were quite rude. One major issue was the long waiting time for certain tests; I had to wait 2 to 3 hours, which is especially difficult for patients coming from far away. Also, some staff members do not speak in English and only use their local language, which makes communication difficult for non-local patients. In addition, the hospital facilities are not well-maintained and could use significant improvement. This needs improvement to make the process smoother and more patient-friendly.
A quality hospital in Assam.Best experience after 4 days residing.Best services and behaviour offered from all category staffs and also from Dr. Partha Phukan.I salute to Dr.Partha Phukan for all smooth communications even in phone calls at anytime.I think he is the best Dr. In general surgeries.I have done my wife's Harnia surgery by him. Thanks a lot from my bottom of the heart to Apollo faculties.A little suggestion to the authority to maintain the gender wise staff with patient who delivered the patient to room after surgery.
Dont go to this hospital. People here have high level attitude higher than CM. Right from security guard to receptionist have ultra level attitude. Patients I request to prepare for your coffin before visiting this hospital. They don't even give any importance to emergency patients also. When we ask for appointment they make us feel like we are asking for their kidney. This kind of response from people engaged in medical sector resembles the low level development assam has in medical sector.
I booked a fixed appointment at Apollo Hospital well in advance to save time and avoid the long queues we usually face in public hospitals. However, despite being given a confirmed slot at 3:15 PM, I was told upon arrival that I'd need to wait for another 20 patients to finish their consultations--each taking nearly half an hour. If I had to wait this long, what was the point of booking a slot in the first place? I could have gone to a public hospital and likely been done much sooner. This isn't the first time--it has happened twice now. Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. I would never recommend Apollo Hospital, especially in an emergency, given this level of service.
Had an appointment with Mousumi Das Goswami on 28/06/2025, ma'am prescribed me some medicine and ask to do some blood tests, then due to my personal reason, I picked up my reports on 03/07/2025 and wanted ma'am to check the reports(5days later) But Apollo Hospital asked me to reappoint once again just to check my reports. Was that reappointment really necessary ?
