Subject: Complaint Regarding ICU Security Staff Conduct and Negligent Response Dear [Hospital Administrator / Patient Relations Officer], I am writing to express my concern regarding an incident involving a security guard near the ICU during my recent visit to your hospital, where my father is currently admitted. On [insert date and time], I asked the security guard if I could quickly go in to ask my father whether he needed milk. I was immediately told that visiting was not allowed at that time. I understood and respected the rule, so I politely asked the guard if he could go inside and check with my father instead. The guard refused and said, "I won't go inside." He then told me to just go and buy milk, saying he would give it to the patient--without confirming if my father actually needed it. I was concerned and asked what would happen if my father was asleep. The guard replied, "He is awake, the nurses will give it later." When I raised concern that the milk might become cold by the time it's given, the guard replied, "Even if the milk is cold, no problem, he can still drink it." I found this attitude very careless. My father is in the ICU and requires proper monitoring and care. Making assumptions about what he needs, or suggesting that cold milk is fine without knowing his condition, shows a lack of professionalism and responsibility. This situation made me feel helpless and disrespected. I was only trying to help my father while following the rules. I hope the hospital can take appropriate steps to train security staff to communicate better and handle such situations with more compassion and understanding. Thank you for your time and attention.
