Review of My Experience at Meenakshi Hospital I chose Meenakshi Hospital for my wife's treatment, expecting good medical care. However, my overall experience was stressful and disappointing. Here's a breakdown of my observations, especially for those considering this hospital for non-emergency visits. 1) Long Waiting Times and Poor Organization * For regular pregnancy check-ups, expect to spend an entire day at the hospital. The outpatient (OP) section is in the basement, where facilities are poor. * The nurses at the OP entrance are not patient-friendly, and there is no proper queue system. Sometimes, recommended patients get priority over others. * Attendants are not allowed inside the consultation room, and the waiting area has no fan or AC, making the experience uncomfortable. 2) Inefficient Consultation Process * The consultation happens in three rounds, which feels unnecessarily slow and disorganized. * In the first round, trainee doctors review reports, often seeming uninterested or distracted. If they are unsure, they ask you to wait while they consult a senior doctor. * The second round involves getting tests or scans, but even receiving the written order for tests can take an hour. * In the final round, senior doctors give their recommendations, but by the time you see them, it's usually late in the afternoon. 3) Lack of Patient Respect and Care * Senior doctors, including Dr. Padma, do not encourage patient questions. If you ask anything, they respond dismissively, making you feel unheard. * The hospital operates like a government facility despite charging corporate-level fees. * There is no transparency in the process, and patients are expected to follow instructions without explanations. Final Thoughts While the hospital may have good doctors, the overall patient experience is frustrating due to long wait times, poor communication, and a lack of basic amenities. If you are considering this hospital, be prepared for a stressful process.

Patient Reviews
We visited for a PET scan and were thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. From registration to receiving the results, the process was smooth and well-coordinated. The hospitality was exceptional at every step. A special mention to the in-house restaurant -- it's one of the cleanest and most hygienic hospital eateries we've ever seen. The service and care provided there were top-notch. Archana, who was in charge of the PET scan section, deserves a huge shout-out. Despite the busy schedule, she managed every patient with remarkable care, patience, and professionalism. Her dedication truly stood out. The staff are clearly well-trained, courteous, and committed to patient care. Kudos to the management and the entire team for maintaining such high standards. This is, without a doubt, one of the best hospitals we've seen in Tamil Nadu in terms of care and hospitality.
Really good facility (from labs to rooms to restaurant, everything) and very kind nursing team. My mom was admitted here for a few days and we've found this the best care ever. So we will likely schedule my dad's cataract here as well (after years of going to Arvind for all things eye care). However would rate this a 4 and not a 5 because doctors aren't always the most communicative. It takes a lot of questioning and even then some of them aren't very open to explaining.
Highly overrated. Middle class can not be afford this hospital. Facilities are very best but the cost is like mountain.
We went for cancer treatment. Consult with Dr. Vijaya Bhaskar. There is no appointment system and his availability is not confirmed over phone. On our visit we reached hospital OP at 9am. Dr VB was available only at 2pm. We were called in at 3pm. He was trying to rush through. He doesn't have any patience to answer our questions and just replied harshly and he said if you ask him more queries better consult other doctors. We, the patients already in distress finally had to say sorry for asking our clarifications. He never showed any compassion or give confidence He may be a knowledgeable person but he's not expected to behave harshly to the patient. With our fees he gets paid. He should not boss over
As a fellow doctor, it takes something truly exceptional for a hospital to leave me not just impressed -- but deeply moved. Meenakshi Mission Hospital has done exactly that, not once, but twice in my life -- in moments of immense vulnerability and personal crisis. Back in 2018, my father suffered a massive myocardial infarction and went into cardiac arrest. The emergency department at Meenakshi Mission not only responded swiftly but resuscitated him with remarkable precision. Their intensive care and post-arrest management, including during the critical phase of cardiogenic shock, were handled with the kind of clinical excellence and coordinated urgency that's rarely seen. They gave us time -- and hope -- when we had none. Years later, in a tragic second episode, my father was attacked by a swarm of greater banded hornets -- an event few hospitals are equipped to handle. Once again, it was Meenakshi Mission Hospital's Emergency Medicine team, along with the rare presence of trained toxicology specialists, who rose to the moment. Despite the odds and his delayed arrival, their care was exemplary. Every possible protocol was followed with dedication, skill, and compassion. Although he couldn't be saved in the end, I am left with no doubt: he received the best possible care. And as his daughter and a doctor myself, that means everything. Meenakshi Mission is not just a hospital -- it is a beacon of excellence in emergency and critical care. Their ability to act swiftly, bring together the right specialists, and deliver life-saving interventions is nothing short of inspiring. Today, I am not only a grateful family member -- I am a true admirer of their standards, their systems, and above all, their spirit.
Am searching star less than one. Here am cheated by Meenakshi home care service Madurai. They first received money and didn't send maid past 5 days am contacting even to pay back my money. No one is attending calls. Very WORST SERVICE. NEVER RECOMMED TO ANY ONE. TOOO POOR SERVICE. SUCH A FRAUD HOME CARE CENTER. SUCH A TACTIC AND CHEATING TEAM. WOMEN ARE WELL TRAINED TO GET LEADS AND AFTER THAT NO RESPONSE AND NOT DOING SERVICE. WONDERFUL START UP BUSINESS IDEA.DINT KNOW WHETHER THEVOWNER IS SLEEPING OR HIDING IN RESTROOM. Am struggling for the past 5 days. But no response. Will definitely go to social media and instagram to reveal about their worst cheating service
Room rent : Rs.10,000 per day. ( Worth only 500 a day) No separate AC. It's a centralised AC with only On/Off switch. If you don't want to use AC,, there is no proper natural ventilation in room. Behind the window of the room, there is a big chunk of garbage boxes and drums. See the pic. Patients are not given enough sleep at night. Morning 6am sharp they(nurses) will come to change bed sheets. No matter if patient is sleeping or not, they will just rush them to get up. Doctors, They keep on adding tests and scans to do at their time. Doesn't care about whether the patient is tired or not. If the doctor rounds is at 10:30am, nurses will ask the attenders to move out of the room at 9:45am. Why? Even if only baby and mother is in the room, they will ask the attenders to leave them at the room and get out and wait outside. For the attenders there is no sitting chair or anything while waiting for the doctor. There is no separate consultation time for the in patient. Only junior doctors will come for visiting the patient once or twice a day. 90% of the Nurses are not trained even for venflon procedure. Making the patients suffer more by inserting the needle multiple times at the same place. I felt like Some senior nurses think they own the ward. Bathroom shower won't work. No proper taps for hot water and cold water shower. You have to use the bucket all the time. Cupboards won't lock properly. Half of them are broken. Drawers won't close properly. TVs won't work 90% of time. Landline phone is broken. No laundry facility. Not even bucket to put used clothes. Bathroom buckets are shitty. Bathroom door lock won't work properly. I felt 100% Senior Doctors are arrogant. I think They are just angry that they had to work for earning. With them it's always one way communication. 50% Junior doctors are acting stupid. They do something and lie to seniors just to escape from their scolding. 80% nurses don't know what they are doing. 10% are kids. Just strolling around. Making fun of patients and attenders. Cleaners are doing their work properly. And are really positive towards all. Scanning place is the laziest place I have seen. Dietary for patients won't have more than 4 menu for your entire stay. If you complain anything about the room you stay, they will surely send support the day before your discharge. Such a ignorant management. Nurses act like they work in government hospital. Once we were feeding the new born baby, suddenly a nurse came and told us to OP room to see doctor. We said that we are feeding the baby, so it will take 10mins. What she said next was like Wtf!! She said if we are late by a minute, then doctor won't see the baby. That's what she said. Such an inhuman and immature nurses are there. So we had to rush to OP room and still waited for 10mins for the doctor.
