Dr. Van Allen Hospital

We were visiting the Kodai area from Pondicherry and wife had to be hospitalized with a breathing issue early Jan 2025. No hospitalization is a pleasant experience, but under the circumstances, full credit to the entire team at Van Allen for a very very comfortable stay. Its a quaint hospital, definitely small by metro standards. What stood out was the service attitude of the entire staff, without exception. The private room was very reasonably priced and very comfortable. All in all, a great option if you need any kind of medical attention while in Kodaikanal. The hospital was also extremely cooperative with assistance for insurance coverage. It was not a network hospital for my insurance with Star Health - though my insurance continues to take ages to settle the claim, I would really commend Van Hospital for being extremely cooperative in responding to queries from the insurance company. Our 5-year-old son had an accident at Kodai, and Dr. Syrinjan provided exceptional care. We're incredibly grateful for his help. Although the hospital seemed small compared to those in Chennai, it had all the necessary facilities. The staff were very polite and kind. Dr. Syrinjan stood out as an extraordinary doctor, showing immense compassion and patience as he listened to our concerns. What truly impressed us was his dedication. He even had his assistant check in on our son the next morning. It's rare to find such care and attention. If he were available on Practo, he would be our go-to pediatrician anytime we needed medical assistance.

Very friendly emergency services with all the facilities. We were tourists to Kovai but my daughter fell sick due to bad food. Duty doctors and staff nurses took care very well.

It is really a good hospital All doctors are having good experiences and nurses are good and so much care about patients. ON (1 july 2025) I got some problems with higher BP , so we went to an emergency ward in van allen and i spend a night there. The hole night was ok . BUT IN THE MORNING A MORNING STAFF CAME , AND SHE ASKED ME TO TAKE MY BLOOD SAMPLES I SAID OK , THEN SHE TOOK THE NEEDLE THE SAMPLE WAS COLLECTED. WHILE TAKING THE BLOOD,THE NURSE PUNCHER ED MY LEFT HAND NERVE . SHE DIDN'T EVEN FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES HOW TO TAKE BLOOD FROM PATIENT NERVE. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO KEEP MY HAND ON A TABLE OR BED, BUT MY HAND WAS HANGING SHE DIRECTLY PUNCHURED THE NERVE WITH NEEDLE AND DROPPED MY BLOOD ON THE FLOOR LIKE 4 DROPS. AFTER THAT I HAD PAIN . NOW ONE WEEK CROSSED, MY LEFT HAND NERVE GOT BLOCKED, IT'S UN Bearable PAIN STILL IS THERE, SHE REALLY NEEDS TO BE practice, I DON'T WANT TO COMPLAINT THE ALL NURSES AND THE HOSPITAL, BUT ONE PERSON LIKE THIS NURSE CAN TOTALLY RUINE THE HOSPITAL'S NAME AND IT'S LEGACY, NOW WHY AM I SHARING MY EXPERIENCE ABOUT WHAT I HAD IN THE VAN ALLEN HOSPITAL . THE Higher OFFICIALS OR DEEN DOCTORS SHOULD KNOW LIKE THESE INCIDENTS , AND ENSURE THE PATIENTS SAFETY , STRICTLY PUSH THE NURSES TO FOLLOW THE PROCEDURES FOR ALL PATIENT'S. BUT THE LABORATORY STAFF'S ARE REALLY EXPERIENCED GUYS , 1 AND 1/2 YEARS I'M GIVING MY BLOOD SAMPLES IN THE VAN ALLEN HOSPITAL LABORATORY THE VIMAL ANNA HE IS USUALLY TAKE MY BLOOD SAMPLES I DON'T EVEN FEEL THE PAIN WHILE INSERT THE NEEDLE . OTHER NURSES MUST HAVE TO BE LIKE VIMAL ANNA. THESE ARE MY THINGS TO SHARE ABOUT THE VAN ALLEN HOSPITAL.

Had knee trouble and could barely walk. Got good orthopaedic care and knee caps to wear, especially when climbing up or downhill. Would strongly recommend.

One of the best hospitals- I admitted my dad here at midnight. The duty doctor and the nurse were very sincere in their care. The entire team was very much involved in their work. It is very much affordable as well. Being a tourist, we were stressed but they were very kind enough to handle the entire procedure. The senior doctor also gave some good advice to move forward with the treatment. We extend our heartfelt gratitude towards this hospital and their sincerity.
