Medical College (Rabindranath Tagore Medical College), located in central Udaipur, is a renowned institution with a long-standing reputation for quality medical education. Established in the early 1960s, the college serves as a hub for aspiring doctors across Rajasthan and beyond. The campus is quite expansive with academic blocks, a large teaching hospital, hostels, lecture halls, library, and sports grounds. It's not flashy or modern, but it has character and a very functional layout. The academic structure is rigorous -- MBBS, MD/MS, diploma, and a few super-specialty courses are offered. The faculty is generally well-regarded, especially in clinical subjects like medicine, surgery, and pediatrics. What really makes RNT stand out is its clinical exposure. The patient footfall at affiliated hospitals like MBGH ensures that students get hands-on training early on. Whether it's ward duties, OPD postings, or emergencies -- there's real experience to gain. On the flip side, the infrastructure is dated, especially the hostel and mess facilities. Hygiene, food quality, and maintenance need serious improvement. The college library is decent, though digitization is still catching up. Student life is a balance of academics and occasional fests. There's a good mix of serious study and bonding through hostel life. Ragging used to be an issue in the past, but is largely under control now.

There is a very ancient and very good medical college of Rajasthan. It is a very good center of medical education. Many good doctors have emerged from here. All the facilities here are very good. Very nice classroom and laboratory available

'One' of the best and oldest Government Medical colleges of Rajasthan. Located in the right spot. Proximal to the Hospital and most of the important locations in Udaipur. Large campus, with adequate parking areas, greenery and big garden too. Very well equipped laboratories with latest technology with well trained doctors. The College Hostel is not good. Poor build quality and lack restrooms. (Only 1 girls washroom in entire college) This can cause unease among students. Administration is a not satisfactory. No notice board updates. Good luck getting needed info at time. Overall - Not bad, but ain't good either.
