Pathetic Infrastructure & Zero Civic Management - SCB Medical, Cuttack While I have no complaints about the treatment or the doctors -- many of whom are hardworking and capable -- the overall condition of this hospital is absolutely appalling. Walk into the waiting area and you'll feel like you've entered a railway platform during an emergency. Patients and their attendants are literally sprawled across the floor, turning public hospital space into their personal bedroom. There's zero civic sense, and no authority even bothers to maintain basic order or hygiene. What's worse -- there aren't even enough chairs for patients who are already sick and waiting in distress. People are forced to sit on the floor, lean against walls, or just collapse from exhaustion. For a hospital of this scale and importance, it's shameful that the infrastructure is still stuck in the dark ages. There has been no visible improvement, even though this situation has been going on for years. The administration seems to be either blind or just doesn't care. This is not a hospital anymore -- it's a chaotic mess lacking basic human dignity and proper care. The doctors may be doing their job -- but the hospital infrastructure and crowd control are a complete disgrace. Unacceptable. Disgusting. And deeply disappointing.

I have visited this hospital multiple times and to be honest OPD of skin,hepatology, medicine is somewhat good. Most of the people from villages have a belief in "bada medical" but my last visit has changed my perception completely. IPD (ISU, Neurology, medicine) was hell. They have a huge huge shortage of nursing and paramedical staff. They have no restriction on getting into IPD (which is good) but with "absolute zero" facility that will be of no use. They have no transport person of an ISU(coma) patient as well, you have to sign a document regarding the "risks of taking the patient for the test outside ISU". So basically if you are alone then the patient will be dead without any test. Still it's somehow manageable but the wrong diagnosis for 9-10 days is an offence (which was done to my aunt in the old medicine department) . They have almost all department doctors, they had CT scan reports still they did this and when we approached them regarding this issue they said "no we can't consult with other department and age related brain atrophy is equivalent to stroke" (if any doctors reading this please do leave a comment). Then they released us from medicine IPD ; yes in that coma condition. After What we rushed to neurology to seek help so they also said the same thing ; the medicine department is full of idiots. They started from scratch and after 12 days they were also released from "ISU ". (Still they are not able to know the disease and cause of coma) They just gave us a statement "we don't know why and how this happened but she is in a very serious condition.

Reqd. some additional support for anatomy dpt. patient"s relatives. As it takes a long time to send body for postmortem due to late for police enquiry. It' s a sensitive matter who lost his own people, but suffering there is a very pain staking issue.

Very pathetic treatment. Very long waiting for simple simple test. The opthalogy department doctors has teased me and misbehaved with me during test. If really there was a option I would have not given any star at all.

Everyone saying that govt hospitals aren't good in clean, hospitality, and treatment. But if you visit once this place, you will get amazed. Everything is free here.You can treat major illness here without any problem. But one thing that lacks here is the emergency treatment.
