My experience at NS hospital had been most comfortable and reassuring so far.The hospital is well maintained and clean with a good infrastructure. I would like to especially thank Sobha(OP assistant)she was very kind and supportive and made me comfortable during the treatment. She listens to me very patiently and explains everything. I truly appreciate the service I received and would recommend to others

I recently admitted my child to NS Hospital for severe fever dated 28/07/25. Unfortunately, my experience with the pediatric nurses on the 4th-floor nursing station was very disappointing. They were reluctant to respond promptly when we called for assistance, and there was even a mistake in mentioning how one medicine should be mixed with water, which caused my child to suffer from gas trouble. On a positive note, the insurance section provided excellent support, especially the senior officer, who was very helpful and efficient throughout the process. Overall, I feel the nursing care needs serious improvement, while the insurance team deserves appreciation.

I am truly satisfied with the service I received at NS hospital. I was attending Dr Chandramohan, to be honest he made me feel that hospital is not a scary place. The entire team was so supportive I felt comfortable and cared for throughout my treatment. Even though it's not exactly a good thing to say I'm regular at a hospital, I must admit I always prefer NS hospital.

Deeply Unethical and Traumatizing Experience -- A Warning to Expecting Families We visited N.S. Memorial Hospital, Kollam as we were considering it for the delivery of our baby. Unfortunately, our experience across two visits was nothing short of shocking and distressing, and has led us to lose complete trust in this institution. First Visit -- Unstructured, Unprofessional Consultation We were consulted by Dr. M.G. Annamma, whose session was highly unstructured and lacking in detail. Rather than giving proper medical guidance for pregnancy, she simply said, "everything can be done and eaten", with no clear instructions or precautions. To make things worse, two men stood in the room during the consultation, watching and listening to everything -- including procedures that required exposing my stomach. Their presence was never explained, and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable and violated. Adding to this discomfort, the doctor focused more on asking personal questions about my husband's background -- like where he is from and where his family lives -- rather than addressing medical concerns. Despite this disappointing first visit, we decided to give the hospital a second chance based on a recommendation from a family friend. Second Visit -- Violation of Consent, Gross Negligence, and Unethical Conduct We returned for an ultrasound scan and a blood test, for which we paid 1,470 (750 for the scan and 720 for the blood test). I was issued Token No. 12, and was called in early when the display was still at No. 6. However, instead of being examined by the appointed radiologist Dr. Vinu C. George, I was taken to an adjacent room and examined without my consent by a PG student named Hillary, who is not even a doctor. During the entire procedure, she was talking casually with her colleagues about wedding stories and showing wedding pictures while the scanning machine was on my stomach resting for longer time, showing zero professionalism or focus on the medical procedure. There was no supervision by a qualified senior doctor and no prior explanation or consent for this substitution. I was treated like a test subject, and this left me feeling humiliated, unsafe, and deeply disrespected. Later, I was called again when token 12 actually showed on the screen and finally examined by Dr. Vinu, who, again, asked irrelevant personal questions about my husband's background, which felt invasive. Still Dr. Vinu worked fast and precise. When I finally reunited with my family -- who waited nearly an hour -- my mother confronted Dr. Vinu, who admitted he was unaware that I had been examined by someone else earlier, but still tried to downplay the issue and protect his colleagues. Later, when we were consulting with Dr. Annamma, she was already prepared and also tried to justify the incident as "normal" -- as if it's acceptable to violate patient consent and carry out unauthorized procedures. We took the matter to the radiology department supervisor, but instead of a proper apology or accountability, we were met with dismissive and defensive responses. This is not just poor service. It is a serious breach of medical ethics, patient rights, and legal responsibility. We decided not to proceed with the blood test, as we could no longer trust the hospital with the care of our pregnant family member. Despite this, the hospital refused to refund the payment for the blood test, citing the lack of a written refund policy -- which speaks volumes about their approach to accountability. Final Thoughts This was by far the worst hospital experience we have ever had in a hospital in India. From unauthorized medical procedures, violation of consent, and lack of professionalism, to the failure of leadership to acknowledge wrongdoing, N.S. Memorial Hospital has shown complete disregard for basic patient rights. If you value your safety, dignity, and proper care -- especially during something as important as pregnancy -- we strongly advise staying away from this hospital.
