Ashtamudi Hospital, Kollam Poor Management & Long Waiting Times One of the worst hospital experiences I've had in Kollam. The waiting time is extremely long, even for basic consultations. Despite having an appointment, I had to wait over 2 hours just to see a doctor. The staff seemed disorganized, with no proper queue system in place. Unhygienic Conditions & Poor Maintenance - The washrooms were filthy and smelled terrible. - Floors and corridors were not cleaned regularly, with visible stains and dust. - Some beds in the general ward had stained sheets, raising concerns about hygiene standards. Rude & Unprofessional Staff - The receptionists were impatient and unhelpful when asked simple questions. - Nurses seemed overworked and indifferent--getting their attention was a struggle. - The doctor I consulted was in a hurry, barely listened to my symptoms, and prescribed medication without proper diagnosis. Lack of Basic Facilities & Mismanagement - No proper signage--had to ask multiple people to find the lab and pharmacy. - Frequent delays in test reports--was told reports would take 2 hours, but it took 5+ hours with no updates. - Billing section was chaotic, with staff arguing with patients over payment issues. Overcharging & Hidden Costs - Was charged unnecessarily for tests that the doctor didn't even explain. - The pharmacy inside the hospital sold medicines at higher rates than outside medical shops. Emergency Care? Forget It! A relative was brought in with severe stomach pain, but the emergency ward took 30+ minutes to attend to them. The staff was slow and unresponsive, making an already stressful situation worse. ### Final Verdict: 1.5/5 (Very Poor) Would NOT recommend this hospital unless you have no other option. The lack of professionalism, hygiene issues, and terrible patient care make it a frustrating experience. There are far better hospitals in Kollam with better service. The worst hospital in the country! I have never seen such an unprofessional doctor as Jacob John in my life. His communication skills are poor, and based on my family's experience, his treatment is ineffective. I seriously doubt his credibility as a doctor--he comes across as someone with a lot of attitude and ego. You're better off visiting a nearby hospital rather than settling for the cheap and low-quality treatment offered here. Before practicing as a doctor, he should first learn how to talk to people and behave respectfully. Respect is a two-way street, and being a doctor doesn't give him the right to speak rudely or act superior to others. I'm giving a very low rating only because there's no option to give zero stars. This was the worst experience ever, and I will make sure my family and I never return to this place.

The hospital in Kerala is among the worst, with rude staff who lack responsibility, particularly the reception staff and a junior doctor who doesn't know how to communicate with patients or their attendants.The patient arrived at the hospital at 10 AM, but until 6:30 PM, only vitals were checked and admission was processed with no treatment provided. Communication was lacking, with responses indicating the doctor would arrive soon. Subsequently, we transferred the patient to another hospital where they were admitted to the ICU.

I don't like ur customer service. Call the hospital to find out the details. Not providing details while calling causes difficulties for patients. It is better to leave the contact number if that is how you behave. When I called they didn't give me the details I needed and when I asked to connect the insurance they said they couldn't. If a patient can't do things, why should a hospital provide services?

The hospital we're considering offers affordable consultations and medication. We've found it to be a better option than N S Hospital and Medicity, where we felt the focus was more on financial gain.
