Dr. VPS Lakeshore Hospital

July 2025, Visited Paediatric Dr. Consultation charges 500rs seems little over charging. Department waiting area congested , shady and dirty . Seems fugui on the walls and top. Management please look in to this and fix the Fungus created over mold like things on the wall. Mold very dangerous which cause serious lungs infections.

I recently (02.07.25) visited the Head & Neck Department at Lakeshore Hospital after consulting both a local hospital and Medical Trust, mainly to confirm and understand my health concern better. Based on the suggestion of my wife's cousin, Ms. Urmila (a staff nurse in the Pediatric ICU at Lakeshore), I decided to consult Dr. Shawn T Joseph, Head & Neck department. To my surprise and relief, the experience was outstanding. Dr. Shawn was extremely friendly, patiently listened to all my concerns, and communicated everything clearly and reassuringly. His pleasant and calm demeanor alone brings a lot of comfort to a patient. Before meeting him, a lady doctor (possibly his assistant) had a detailed discussion with me about my concerns -- especially helpful for first-time patients. She was also very professional, polite, and empathetic. The overall atmosphere of the department was excellent, and I left the hospital with a calm and happy mind. I'm truly grateful for the care I received. A special thanks to Ms. Urmila for guiding and encouraging me to meet the right doctor at the right time.

Several areas needing urgent improvement. 1. Noise Pollution: The air conditioning plant located at the northeast part of the building creates considerable sound pollution. This makes it difficult to keep windows open in non-AC rooms, particularly affecting patient comfort and ventilation. 2. Night Disturbances: There is noticeable chatter and noise from the nursing staff throughout the night, which significantly disrupts patient rest and sleep. 3. Communication Gaps: The communication skills of some junior doctors are inadequate. In one instance, a doctor named Sameer demonstrated an arrogant attitude and failed to explain a procedure (fluid tapping), leaving the patient and family anxious and confused. 4. Housekeeping: On a positive note, the cleaning staff are highly efficient and maintain a good standard of hygiene across the premises.

During a challenging phase of my health, I received treatment at VPS Lakeshore Hospital, Kochi, and I must say, the care and professionalism I experienced were exceptional in every aspect. I was admitted for the evaluation and management of a neurological condition and was treated under the expert care of Dr. Bindu Varghese (Neurologist) and Dr. Rahul Valsaraj (Endocrinologist). Both doctors were highly knowledgeable, compassionate, and guided me through the process with utmost professionalism. I am deeply grateful for their expertise and support during my recovery. I would also like to extend special thanks to Mr. Vahab (Executive PCS) for his outstanding service. His coordination, approachability, and prompt assistance made the entire hospital process smooth and stress-free. Staff members like him truly make a difference. In addition, I consulted Dr. Arun (Paediatrician) for my baby boy, and I was extremely satisfied with the care and attention provided. He was patient, kind, and explained everything clearly, which was very reassuring for us as new parents. Overall, I highly recommend VPS Lakeshore Hospital for their excellent medical care, dedicated staff, and patient-first approach. Thank you to everyone involved in my care.

We admitted at hospital for our third child's birth. They introduced the new Labour suite and we opted it over AC deluxe which we took last time. The process was very smooth, and the care from doctors and nursing staff was exemplary. After a C section process we were back home within 70 Hours of admission with the healthy baby boy. The suite was very comfortable and spacious, which was worth every penny spent. On top of that there was a decorated room, with cake and a photo session included in. High recommended to choose the suit over normal AC/ or Deluxe AC rooms.

Discharged but insurance department taking more than 24 hours to process the paperwork. Discharged and packed the bags yesterday morning it's 2:15 pm next day still waiting to hear back from the insurance department!! Unless the insurance pays the bills patient can't leave the hospital. Horrible system and process, patient abandonment, irresponsible, unaccountable, food poisoning from the canteen (I will give the details later in another review). No coordination between ICU and treatment after shifting to the room. Ordered food for the patient from the canteen at 11:00 am , food delivered at 2:30 pm after 2 calls to the canteen. A very broken system! However, the bills are delivered deligently! Anyone going there, good luck!

I am writing this review to express my heartfelt gratitude to The entire team of Gynaecology and Paediatric at Lakeshore Hospital. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Lakeshore Hospital during the birth of our baby. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and incredibly supportive. A special thank you to Dr. Smitha,Dr.Sruthy and other junior Doctors ,whose expertise, kindness, and reassuring presence made a world of difference throughout the entire delivery and post delivery. The Nicu staff were also outstanding and attentive, compassionate, and always ready to help. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and are deeply grateful for the exceptional care we received. Thank you to Dr. Smitha,Dr.Sruthy, and the entire team at Lakeshore Hospital for making the birth of our baby so special.
