Bad experience. I had booked consultation for my father a week beforehand by calling the hospital. And also have paid the fees for bookin and registration. But after 3 days the appointment gets cancelled. While checked with customer representative they informed the slots are booked and next availability is only by May. How can a slot be booked when I had booked for the same before? I am not sure if Doctor does sees patient for consultation or not. The registration fees is also not refunded. They should clearly state if doctor is not available for normal consultation and not give people false hopes who book an appointment thinking they will get a consultation from him. Will not recommend to anyone who stays in different states and comes with a hope to get a consultation here.

Greetings Sir, I visited the hospital for my uncle's bypass surgery during the second week of June. Initially, I approached the BPL card counter due to my uncle possessing a BPL card. At that counter, a woman named Sumithra, who is of D Grade, was not fit to be stationed there. We requested to speak with the surgeon, but she reacted aggressively, questioning why we were coming to such a hospital. She insisted that we could not meet any doctor and instructed us to submit our file and documents, stating that they would review them and inform us later about the surgery date, which could take one to two months. We continued to plead with her, but then a rude individual appeared and began shouting at us, his name is Shivaji, displaying behavior worse than that of a low-class person. He told us to leave and not to linger there, asserting that it was not a government hospital. He suggested that if we wanted surgery, we should take government bus number 600 to Jayadev hospital and have it done there. Ultimately, we concluded that proper treatment would not be provided in such a hospital. We went directly to Jayadev, where we met Dr. Ravikumar Naga Shetty, and the surgery was completed without any complications. Today, the patient was discharged with a smile and care and respect. We visited Narayana hospital due to consultations with Dr. Devi Shetty and Dr. P V Suresh in Gulbarga. The experience at the government hospital was appalling. We had a horrible experience in the BPL card department. We observed for an hour in that department, where very poor individuals were holding newborn babies. The treatment provided by that woman made it seem as though the patients were beggars. A hospital is not a place for amusement. Patients also deserve to have self-respect. Dear Dr.Devi Shetty Sir, please do not tarnish the reputation of your hospital by employing individuals who are unfit for such roles; they are not even suitable to be considered beggars.

Hi Team, My dad has an appointment with Dr Devi Shetty on 29th April,2025.As per the telephonic conversation by the NH team Dr Shetty himself will see the patient after the primary evaluation by his team, but unfortunately I have come across some negative comments where some patients are saying even after the verbal assurance once they reached the hospital they were told "Dr Shetty only see patients who need surgery".Since we will come from kolkata & he is an aged person I would like to confirm that whether Dr. Shetty himself will see the patient irrespective of whether surgery is needed or not. Your prompt response will be appreciated. Thanks

Please consider this as strong feedback before anyone comes willingly to consult Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, specifically if you are not from Bangalore. HE WILL NOT SEE YOU UNLESS YOU ARE CRITICAL - exact words used by the person in charge to handle the appointments. My Uncle was visiting for a consultation to take up an expert opinion before getting operated on for a pacemaker surgery since there are multiple post-checkups usually involved in such cases. He travelled from my hometown, almost 360 km from Kolkata, and then flew from there to BANGALORE on 7th February, as scheduled. according to the pre-booked interview he had done a MONTH AGO, and he was on time for the clinic. However, he was told that the Doctor was unavailable, and an alternative doctor would be reviewing his case. In case he still wants to see Dr Devi Prasad Shetty (for whom the appointment was given in the first place), he will have to wait until Monday, February 10th. My Uncle eventually extended his stay for 3 more days and also took a last-minute flight for Tuesday hoping the consultation should not take more than 10 mins on MONDAY. But to our surprise when we went for the appointment on MONDAY 10th FEB we were refused being said - "HE WILL ONLY SEE PATIENTS THAT NEED TO BE OPERATED" There is nothing wrong with a doc being unavailable, but the question is : WHY NOT TELL THE SAME THING TO THE PATIENT AT THE TIME OF BOOKING? Why mislead them into coming to your clinic all the way and then give an alternative option? No matter how good the alternative is, the patient should have a choice weather they wanna travel to BANGALORE to consult the alternative doctor or not ? Also, why make them wait in an unknow city for 3 days when you know the doctor is not gonna see them? Will the authorities bear the compensations ? It was my recommendations that brought my uncle to Bangalore speaking so highly of the facilities here and so might have been the case with so many others, since doctors don't have to endorse themselves but their work should and unfortunately, it was embarrassing to see them stoop so low that they couldn't even consider the decency to be transparent forget meeting for a 5 mins consultation, imagine trusting the authorities with a major surgery here after being duped so blatantly on your face. I am not sure if the doctor under whose name all this is happening is aware or not of the ongoings, but I really hope he takes his cases more seriously than his STAFF does. This just disappointing and embarrassing. If it was any other country there would have been so much done than just a review.

My sincere gratitude to this great Doctor. Here is the process we had to go through to meet Shetty Sir. 1. Arrive at hospital, go to helpdesk to know which department to visit. 2. Get xray, ecg and echo done at that department and get your hospital file. 3. Review reports in OPD with any doctor of the department. 4. The doctor will evaluate your case and if surgery/ complications are there, doctor will refer to Shetty Sir. Simple cases are not referred due to so many people coming to meet sir. 5. Go to Sir's OPD, show your file at reception 6.Reception will ask you to do registration, scanning and history. If you have not done xray they will ask to do it. 7. Registration can be done at cash counter showing the file. 8. Go to scanning area to get all your medical document scanned electronically 9. Next go to medical history area and answer your medical history questions. 10. Next go back to Sir's opd and submit the file at reception. 11. They will mention a date and time for you to come and meet Sir. 12. Sir will suggest you next steps for your treatment. Now points to note: 1. This whole process above gets completed in 2-3 days if Sir is available. If Sir has some meeting then it will take time. You can call hospital in advance to know, but there can always be delay, so come with a one week mindset. 2. While in waiting area to meet Shetty Sir, be prepared to wait the whole day. There are OT and emergencies so no particular timing can be given. Please bring food and water or you can buy and eat there with limited options. 3. Bring some books to read to spend waiting time. 4.Be prepared to go back and come next day in the waiting area as that can happen in the doctor's busy schedule. 5. If you are coming from other places like outside bangalore Or outside india, first do a video consultantion with any doctor of concerned department of this hospital, local echo and ecg report can be uploaded online. Sometimes they may ask you to come after certain period of time. So you can save one extra visit to bangalore by online consultation. 6. The hospital has very good canteen, seating area, praying area. There is free vehicle to move around the hospital 7. This hospital is one of the best place to get treated.
