Having just moved to the area this cardiologist was reccomended by a trusted source, therefore I booked my yearly with Dr. Hernandez. Having gone to the same Dr for 10yrs I expected this experience to be slightly different. But nothing prepared me for the impolite and slightly condescending front office staff which one has to face to see the actual Dr. Therefore this was strike one for me.... nothing spoils a visit than unhelpful staff. Strike two was the excessive wait time. After waiting 30m passed my appt time and which I was 20min early for, I was finally called. Nurse took vitals, did an EKG, then told me the Dr would be in shortly. I waited 1hr in the exam room. Per my inquiry to a staff as to why the delay, the nurse practitioner arrived to take more vitals and discuss why I was there. I explained, then asked when the Dr was going to see me, as here in Florida I've become aware that if you don't "request the Dr." your appt will be with a nurse practitioner. She advised yes, and that the Dr would be in shortly... 30min after the Dr appeared. He was nice, polite and friendly enough. We went through the reasons for my appt again and then suggested an EcoCardiogram be done. So I agreed thinking as my old dr it would be done next. Instead the dr walked me out to make another appt even though these are done in the same office also. I advised the staff I wouldnt mind waiting further if it could be done while I was already there. The secretary literally ignored my inquiry and proceeded to say the next available appt would be days later. So I returned. This time the office was literally empty so I was in/out within an 1hr. When I asked how long for the results, I was in return asked if I wanted to see the Dr or the nurse practitioner for the results, further highlighting an appt with the nurse practitioner would be available the following week, or the Dr one MONTH later. I inquired why I needed to return that they could just call me, at which the receptionist snappily and annoyingly replied they no longer call patients with results that an appt was required. So I returned to see the nurse practitioner to expedite my results. Once again I was early for my appt. Waited 30min before the regular nurse called to take my vitals and asked some questions. Then advised the nurse practitioner would be in shortly.... waited 30min before I had to ask someone when the NP would be in to see me, I was advised I was 2 patients behind, therefore patiently waited another 30min before I was compelled to go to the front desk to complain.... 15min later the NP showed up apologizing claiming they had "misplaced" my chart!!!! WTF!!!! So I had to speak my mind, letting her know my experience since my first appt, she proceeded to apologize and agreed she would feel as I if roles were revered. She proceeded to take my vitals, questioning if my HR was always high.... at which point I answered no, that her office practices seemed to be the reason. She apologized again, walked me through my Eco and EKG results which took all but 10min with all my questions answered. Unbelievable. Had it not been for the impolite curt front office staff, and the lengthy wait time, I would say okay, I'll give this practice another shot next year. Which I did make an appt for, but I have a year to actively look for another cardiologist. And take the time to read all their reviews as these indeed enlighten , had I spend a few minutes reading this practice reviews I probably would had opted to keep searching and not bothered my 10yr cardiologist to transfer all my records. Have to say Dr. Hernandez and the nurse practitioners I saw were friendly and professional, but sad that the first impression any patient gets is that impolite condescending front office staff. Not one out of the 4/5 ppl sitting there was polite. It's like they are all overwhelmed with work. As for the extended wait time. I'm not a prude and understand things happen to delay a Dr. but this experience was truly unacceptable.

Patient Reviews
Get ready to wait a long time. This office don't care about appointments time. Got to my appointment on time and had to wait for an 1.5 hour until I could see the doctor. If your time is valuable to you look for another place for this office your time is not valuable.
I should really give the place a Zero star. My dad had an appointment scheduled for his 6 month follow-up and they called to cancel it the same day without any reason, I called the place multiple times that same day and never answered, the website stated that the location was closed for the entire week. I personally went to the clinic 2 weeks later to reschedule the appointment and the front desk staff was RUDE when I asked why they never notified me about the cancellation or the place being closed. Then another staff member, Carolyn (she said that was her name), approached me and started yelling at me for no reason and told me to make the appointment and move on, basically she told me to shut up. She is the one that usually makes the appointments for the patients, very RUDE, nasty and unprofessional person. Not the first time the staff is rude, they get mad when you say they never answer the calls.
I have been calling for a week to schedule a follow up post ER visit. No answer no call back, not even a working voicemail. Horrible! Let just say i moved to another cardiologist. This service is not worth it.
I went with a friend of mine, Don J. for a follow-up post heart catheterization to see Dr Hernandez, his Cardiologist of 14 years. Don's recovery was quick and easy with no complications. His procedure was done by Dr. Bashir in about 1 hour. Dr. Bashir is very nice and personable with great expertise in his field. He did a great job. Upon meeting Dr. Hernandez I knew I wanted to change Cardiologists, just in the way he conducted business with Don. He is very nice, very thorough and precise in explaining procedures taken, great at explaining their findings and informative when explaining the steps necessary going forward. It's very comforting to know my friend Don is in such good hands. As for me, I'll be transferring my medical records to Dr. Hernandez's office. Regarding the office staff and the women in the surgical department....the women there are all very special. Not only were they kind and helpful but they went far beyond in making me feel very comfortable and welcome. Final thought....it turned out to be a great experience for Don and me therefore this review to let them know and to help others in their decision. Godspeed. Karen Ballard
Very poor attitudes up front, they will lie and fabricate things out of nowhere, very unprofessional, will not listen to what the patient says. Doctor himself won't speak to you , the attitudes are very poor, I don't recommend this place at all, they dropped me as a patient cause I spoke up when they lied, they made me the bad guy. Avoid this place
ATROCIOUS IN EVERY WAY!!!!!!! His feelings got hurt because I was asking "too many questions about My health!!!!" He's extremely unprofessional and has a huge ego!!! When I was asking questions about different treatment plans, he literally told me "don't argue with me about this, this is what I do for a living!" Unprofessional!!! I also want to add that no one ever picks up the phone, staff is rude obnoxious, and they are very inefficient!
The rudest, most disgusted staff/ emergency operator. Those people should be all fired as they work in the wrong field, with no compassion, and no understanding, they do not pick up the phone, and finally, when they do, it is a miracle and then they do not even give you a chance to talk or to ask questions, they hang up on you trying to figure out what just happened. Let's make it simple THEY DO NO CARE!!!!!!!
