Dr. Amritangsu has a strong reputation in Guwahati as one of the best in gastroenterology, and for good reason. When my aunt first started treatment with him, we were genuinely relieved. He was attentive, kind, and took her symptoms seriously. Those first consultations gave us a lot of hope and reassurance that she was in good hands. But over the years, something changed. During her later visits, the careful attention and patience we once saw began to fade. She often felt like her concerns weren't fully heard or addressed. What truly disheartened her was her last visit, despite describing her physical symptoms in detail, she was prescribed medication for anxiety and depression, without much explanation. It left her feeling confused and brushed aside. After being under his care for almost three years, this sudden shift in approach was deeply upsetting. It felt improfessional, and not what you'd expect from someone who had once been so involved in her treatment. Eventually, she made the difficult decision to change hospitals. Dr. Amrit's expertise is not in question, but I truly hope he reflects on how much patients rely on more than just medicine, they come with trust, expectations, and hope. It's not just about prescribing the right drug, but about making someone feel seen and cared for. That trust can easily be lost when things start to feel rushed or centered around money. Sometimes, simply listening with patience and showing empathy can mean just as much as the treatment itself.

There is no good doctor. Only the money is known. Only after seeing the patients of OPD comes to see the admitted patients. He is not a special doctor. For doctor mony matter not patient's life.

After seeing all the reviews and also getting some verbal references, I took my father to Dr. Amritangsu Borkakoty at Nemcare Hospital. In short, I would say that he sounded like a businessman rather than a doctor. Here is why. My father is a diabetic and he got some very slight abnormalities in the Liver Function Test report. Dr. Amritangsu just navigated through the report and claimed it to be Liver Cirrhosis. For a person who has never drank alcohol and who follows a proper diet with a very negligible intake of meat/chicken, it was not acceptable that he could have such a chronic disease. We ignored the laboratory tests suggested by Dr. Amritangsu and decided to consult another doctor at the same hospital. Ironically, the other doctor sounded very genuine and professional. After getting tested according to his suggestions, we discovered that my father is nowhere near to Liver Cirrhosis. I don't want to blame Dr. Amritangsu but this was something very serious. I am leaving this review just for awareness purpose. Do not blindly trust your doctors these days. Always be aware about what has been told to you, donot be a fool.

Had a very good experience with him. Most important thing was his approach to low budget patients. So happy to see my patient recovering fast and the cost of treatment was not high
